Equal Libra Aum or Equilibrium

Equilibrium in the simplest terms is a balance of seemingly opposite forces. Positive and Negative are the most generic expression of these seemingly opposite forces. I say seemingly because if you a have read my previous post “I have known but now I actually understand” on Facebook then you are aware that opposite forces are just two aspect of the same energy. Joy and Pain are Positive and Negative respectively. Masculine and Feminine are Positive and Negative respectively. However the expressions Positive and Negative are often misunderstood and probably leave a sour taste in the mouth of some women to think that they are thought of as negative. So allow me to clear this up before I go any further.

Think of the poles of a battery. There is a positive pole and a negative pole without both there is no battery. A battery is merely a cell or group of cells which store a charge and is capable of furnishing a current. In the sense of human beings internally each of us are a battery for we are composed of both masculine and feminine energies externally however we are each just one pole of a battery. And if it assists you in getting past any blockage the terms create you may also think of it as broadcast and reception.

We are built to both broadcast and receive transmissions of energy to/from our surroundings. I assume that most of those who are reading this have been to a poetry venue at some point.

When the poet is speaking he/she is the positive/masculine/broadcasting force. Each individual audience member who is listening is a negative/feminine/receptive force. Also the collective of listener is a negative/feminine/receptive force.

During the poet’s performance there will be a shift of the dynamics in the room; a listening audience member will hear something that resonates within them and they will respond in agreement. Sometime these responses are without thought on behalf of the responder depending on how deep the resonation. There will also be a collective response which can be in agreement, disagreement, or a mixture of the two. These responses transform the audience into the positive/masculine/broadcast force and the poet into the negative/feminine/receptive force.

These exchanges occur so often during the performance that they are easy to overlook. The energy of a room can be manipulated if one understands this principle. It all depends on what the people who have come together are trying to accomplish.

In a poetry venue for example; people come to be enlightened, educated, entertained, turned on, socialize, build a name, do the “in” thing, and the list goes on. When you place a poet who wants to enlighten before and audience dominated by people who want to be enlighten to some degree the experience is awe inspiring and usually turns into a good night for everyone involved. Even the people who came for other reasons which may be adverse to enlightenment will feel the electricity in the room and be affected by what is occurring. Replace enlightenment with any term and the outcome is the same or Equilibrium which I have said is a balance of seemingly opposite forces. In terms of our example a poet and a crowd are seemingly opposition forces but in actuality they are expression of the same force able to work in harmony or discord…which one is totally up to the participants.

Yes, if you attend a venue or a church or your job and you have a good/bad day you are the primary force responsible for this even if you are unable to see that in this moment.

Now we have a clear cut example (feel free to email me at thirteen_nazareth@yahoo.com if you require a more in depth explanation) lets get back to equilibrium in a deeper aspect. In my poem Word Is…(Eyes  Disagree) about a man loving his wife like Christ loves the Church I briefly touch on the concept of equilibrium and break the term apart as Equal Libra Aum  or an Equal Balance of Aum or The Vibratory Force which Sustains the Physical Universe better known as The Word of God.

The energy in the transfer that occurs in our poetry venue example is the Aum. The energy that is transferred between lovers is the Aum. Yes it is the same energy regardless of one’s awareness or lack thereof and it is all sacred. However it is also often disrespected due to the lack of awareness of its sacredness.

It’s accepted for example in some parts of the African community that we address each other as niggers and bitches because the speakers and listeners are not aware the even the ability to speak is a sacred activity. The terms themselves have no power beyond what is given to them through our intended/accepted usage. Yes the words have a history of disrespect directed toward the African community of the world but in light of broadcast/reception you being a nigger/bitch is primary your own fault. Because I could broadcast or call you whatever I want to call you but you do not become that until you are receptive or accept it.

I am well aware of the suffering my ancestors underwent but the word nigger has been attached to the suffering and is not the suffering itself. So to a degree I understand the argument that rappers make about changing the meaning but the problem is they aren’t changing the meaning they are creating a mixed definition. In the same verse you may hear “that’s my nigga” and “I will kill that nigga” this creates confusion. Which is why I also understand the concept of symbolically burying the word but the problem here lies in its attachment to our historical suffering, to bury the word is to bury the suffering but to do this is not the same as healing suffering.

The only way to heal is to face it head on as a collective and I don’t mean by pointing the finger at white people and saying its all your fault nor do I mean white people get to stand idly acting as if a number of the advances they have as a race aren’t intimately intertwined with the historical holocaust which played out on American soil since before its inception. The collective facing of such an issue which is ingrained into the function of this nation is going to require a national self assessment and a paradigm shift within the way we choose to educate our progeny.  Lastly if the suffering is faced head on the term will lose its power because we will be aiming at the creation of a type different of people. A changed people won’t be bothered by hearing the word nigger or any of its derivatives but a changed people will also find its use pointless. So I am not for or against the use of the term nigga…I am beyond it and the only reason we are still having issues with the word nigger in America is because it is still the American way.

Getting back to the masculine/feminine equilibrium; the charge created in the process is what brings new life into the world. Most obviously in the form of children but anything created in the physical universe requires both the masculine and feminine charges for they are two sides of the same force.

It is important that you examine your own life to see what’s out of whack and what half of this force is lacking. Are you too receptive with not enough broadcast or are you broadcasting too much without enough reception? The universe is balanced so if something is not balance the imbalance is somewhere in you. Maybe it hurts to hear that but if so it is because you are too attached.

Believe it or not God does not care if you have the house, the car, the pair of shoes, or even the spouse of your dreams. Not because the Creator is callous but when one is the life within all things all of these things hold an equal relevance an equal sacredness. Jesus the Christ and Gautama the Buddha are no more important to God than the homeless drunk who sleeps under the bridge or the crack head who sells his/her body to pay for the next fix but God is more important to Jesus and Gautama than anything. They are thus  able to see the universe through God’s eyes or rather God is able to see the universe through their eyes because they were entirely receptive to God’s broadcast.  Oddly eneough the Buddha did not even believe in God yet somehow he is more godly than than many who claim to faith in the Most High. I am certain this is do his active participation is the divine broadcast versus his belief or lack thereof regarding the occurence of a divine broadcast. 

And in case you have not noticed people begin to look/sound/act like who they listen to the most or in the words of our storyline.

The more I have written in this particular post the more I realize it is all over the place and though I wanted it to be a bit more focused I decided against changing anything because at the core of my being I am certain that I said what I need to say and those for whom this is intended will be able to pull that which is for them and leave that which is not. For that is one step in the process of finding equilibrium.
